The past few years have witnessed men-- knowingly and stylishly---navigating a fashion-frantic environment. It helps greatly that the local sartorial scene, thanks hugely to Philippine Fashion Week, continues to welcome, nurture and support designers who cater to men’s clothing.

No longer taking a backseat, though still not exactly on the same lane as its female-centric counterpart, menswear is nevertheless given importance it so richly and belatedly deserves.

For this best-of-Fashion-Week compendium, the garments run the gamut from the dapper-meets-edgy vibe, to the preppy-and-slouchy collision to the casual-cum-experimental sensibility.

In the second exclusive “pheno-men-al” shoot, BusinessMirror gathers the brightest young things to come out of the local modeling scene, wearing the standout looks from PFW Spring/Summer 2011. Incidentally, the Holiday Collections will be presented at the SMX Convention Center on May 8-15.

These young men were discovered via pageants, open shoots and Facebook. In the next months they will be conquering the runways, fashion editorials and commercial shoots. If they haven’t done so already.
